Cuenca is located in southern Ecuador, bot too far from the Peruvian border. Cuenca is a historic town (it was founded in 1557) — the town center is a UNSECO Heritage Site due to the abundance of beautiful buildings and stunning architecture on display, including the colonial-era City Hall and the impressive old and new Cathedrals. Cuenca makes most of its money from textiles and manufacturing — it exports much of its produce to the USA and parts of Europe. Aside from this, it’s also home to an impressive university too (it ranks in the top schools in the country). The city has quite a warm climate — temperatures rarely get below 10 degrees Celsius in the winter, but they also don’t stray over 25 degrees in the summer.
