I am a nurse who dreams of having her own wellness retreat.  My husband and I recently bought raw land and hope to be permanent residents within the year!

Tell us about the ways your new life in Ecuador differs from that back home. Did you have trouble getting used to the new circumstances? Did you experience culture shock?

Living is Ecuador is a much simpler life and time seems not to exist.  Getting used to “South American” time was definitely a challenge…

Do you think you were fully prepared for what awaited you in Ecuador? If you could, would you change some decisions/preparations you made?

My husband and I are seasoned travelers and open to new experiences. We did our due diligence and thought long and hard about this decision to leave the US and move to a third world country…
